Job postings are funny. Generally, they are a ridiculous wish list full of jargon, empty promises, and other non-specific information. How can you really tell the differences in culture, the actual day-to-day responsibilities, and the pay package? It starts with being honest, so here we go:
We want to be taken seriously by our clients, but exhibit enough personality to avoid the boring accountant stereotype. When I grow up I want to be a CPA, said no one, ever.
We do not expect you to know all of the answers. We do expect you to identify problems and form solutions. The solutions may not be the most effective at first, but overtime as your experiences broaden, so does the quality of your solutions.
We are careful to look for talent in every role, focusing our people’s performances on outcomes rather than forcing them into a stylistic mold. We prefer to suspend whatever interest may exist in your weakness and instead explore the intricate detail of your strengths. We believe these tenants will provide for a stronger organization, an organization designed to reveal and stretch the strengths of each employee.
To excel at our firm and to find lasting satisfaction in doing so, you will need to understand your unique patterns. Here is what we believe will be ideal strengths for this tax associate candidate:
Initially, the candidate for this position will be involved with some, or all, of the tax compliance process for our entity and individual clients. Participation in tax research, audit representation, and other technical projects will also be expected.
